London Walk: Poplar High Street

This proposal was commissioned by the London Borough of Tower Hamlets to provide affordable, low-carbon homes with a community focus.

Since the existing structure was incomplete and unable to be occupied, this proposal was built on the literal same foundations, with the intention of preserving the building's frame where possible.

The proposal also showed how lightweight extrusions would break up the main facade, enhancing the relationship with the high street and providing amenity space for the flats above.

This proposal was about maximising the site based on what was already there and could not be moved - while still building in accessible, safe and high-quality homes and shared spaces.
