The Studio

McGregor White Architects is based in London and the South East. We offer a full range of Architectural services from project inception to completion (in line with the RIBA Plan of Work).

Our clients include a number of local authority and registered housing providers. Due to the trouble-shooting and problem-solving nature of our work, we’ve often operated discreetly under NDAs (so our portfolio is, by necessity, restricted to certain case studies).

We focus on the creation of real social value, with community values and sustainability at the core of every project. Our approach to architecture meets the client’s brief while enhancing the local environment with socially conscious, sustainable buildings and places.

We have particular expertise in modern methods of construction (MMC) and in using volumetric and modular construction techniques.

Passivhaus Designer

Steve White specialises in residential, mixed-use, public, and regeneration projects. His work focuses on creating tangible economic, social, and community value through sustainable, buildable design. Recognised for delivering award-winning schemes, he founded McGregor White Architects in 2019 to work with housing providers, charities, and local authorities on high-quality, affordable housing and mixed-use developments.

Before establishing the practice, Steve led the design and delivery of major regeneration and residential projects across the South East. He has provided design and technical expertise to numerous public and charitable bodies, often on complex or sensitive sites requiring careful consultation and negotiation. His experience ranges from inner-city regeneration to low-energy rural housing and listed buildings, combining design intelligence with a practical, collaborative approach to resolving challenging projects.
